Community Partners: testimonials

Confident English is proud to have partnered with the Refugee Council and the Strategic Migration Partnership to deliver much needed ESOL courses in Hertfordshire.

After the success of an initial pilot in Hemel Hempstead and St Albans, Confident English was engaged by Dacorum Council to continue to deliver ongoing ESOL support to members of the local area.

Read the feedback from two of our partners, the Refugee Council and SMP (Strategic Migration Partnership).

You can read what our ESOL learners from Hemel Hempstead and ESOL learners from St Albans have to say about our courses on our community testimonials page.

Strategic Migration Partnership (SMP)

Confident English partnered with the Strategic Migration Partnership (SMP) earlier this year to deliver fully funded ESOL courses in Hemel Hempstead and St Albans. Quantitative data from these courses is given below, showing the demand and scope of the project.

‘45% of learners had never accessed ESOL previously, demonstrating that ELIP-funded informal provision is reaching previously excluded learners. 201 learners requested ESOL support over the duration of the project including 56 Ukrainians and 48 Hong Kongers. All learners were supported through direct referrals, course bookings, signposting and final onward guidance to providers.’

Refugee Council quote:

Katie at Confident English is an exceptional ESOL tutor who has supported our learners for the past two years. She works in a flexible, trauma-informed and highly adaptable way, building strong relationships with learners at every level, from those who are illiterate in their own language to advanced ESOL students.

Her patience, care and commitment are reflected in the excellent attendance and engagement within her classes — our learners absolutely adore her. As an ESOL Coordinator, I particularly value Katie’s proactive and holistic approach. She takes ownership of her classes, manages learner queries independently, communicates directly and effectively with learners, and consistently goes above and beyond to support both their learning and wider needs.

She is thoughtful, reliable and genuinely invested in the progress and wellbeing of every learner, making her a hugely valued part of our provision.

“We see this as a wonderful opportunity to partner with Confident English. They have previously delivered with us before and we have found Katie professional and approachable. She makes her clients feel at ease and has an excellent rapport with them. We are trialling a different approach to ESOL delivery and Katie has listened and adapted her usual service offering to meet our needs. We look forward to an exciting partnership with her”
